VDU Training

As an employer, you must protect your workers from the health risks of working with display screen equipment (DSE), such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations apply to workers who use DSE daily, for continuous periods of an hour or more. We describe these workers as ‘DSE users’. The regulations don’t apply to workers who use DSE infrequently or only use it for a short time.

By law, employers must:

• do a DSE workstation assessment.
• reduce risks, including making sure workers take breaks from DSE work or do something different.
• provide an eye test if a worker asks for one.
• provide training and information for workers.

Our VDU assessment training can be offered at our training centres in Lincoln and Grimsby or in house at your place of work.

VDU assessment Training Course Syllabus:

• Definition of VDU user.
• Hazards from VDU use.
• Upper limb disorders.
• Schedule points relating to VDU set up.
• VDU Regulations.
• Practical assessment session.

Course length: 5-6 hrs.

Qualification achieved: VDU assessor certificate.

Cost: £45 per person + VAT on open courses.

£45 per person + VAT (min charge of £270 + VAT) for in-house courses.

We can run courses in house or at our training centres in Lincoln and Grimsby.  We also run open courses for individuals or business needing to train single employees.
