Diabetes awareness training is designed to give a greater understanding of diabetes. The course gives you the skills not only to give emotional support to someone with diabetes but to also help with the practical side, covering the use of blood sugar monitors.

Even if your company policy states that your care team are not able to use the blood sugar equipment, the skills and knowledge they will gain from the course will be invaluable.

This short course is designed to help give a greater understanding of diabetes. On completion of the course the candidate will be able to manage a patient with diabetes with an understanding about the illness. They will also have been trained in the use of blood glucose monitoring equipment.

Course Syllabus:

  • Biology of diabetes.
  • Types of Diabetes.
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms.
  • Complications of Diabetes.
  • Blood sugars assessment.
  • Management of diabetes.

Course length: 3 – 4 hrs.

Qualification: Diabetes Awareness Certificate.

Cost: £40 per person + VAT on open courses.

£40 per person + VAT (min charge of £240 + VAT) for in-house courses.
