Vaccination Course Syllabus:

UK legislation and regulatory control.
Informed consent for adults.
Infection prevention and control.
Correct documentation requirements.
Understanding the importance of double-checking vaccines.
Understanding needle size and gauge for the difference in injection sites.
Understanding the techniques for all types of injections.
Understanding the injection sites for:
- Subcutaneous injections.
- Intramuscular injections.
- Intradermal injections.
Understanding safe aseptic procedure of injection site and equipment.
Safe disposal of sharps equipment.
Understanding and demonstrate drawing up of vaccines.
An understanding of complications in this procedure.
Demonstrate safe aseptic administration of:
- Subcutaneous injections
- Intramuscular injections
- Intradermal injections

Course length: 3 hrs

Qualification achieved: Practical applications of I.M. vaccination

Cost: £50 per person + VAT on open courses.

£50 per person (min charge of £300) + VAT for in-house courses.
