Safeguarding of Adults who may be at risk.
The National Minimum Care Standards came into force on 1st April 2002 and specifically cover safeguarding for adults & children. They place a duty on owners of any type of care establishment to ensure that the people they care for are treated with dignity and respect and are free from discrimination or bullying of any form.
We can train your staff to look after residents in a way that promotes a caring environment free from abuse.
Course Syllabus:
- Legislation.
- DBS system.
- Types of abuse.
- Who is a vulnerable adult?
- Who is an abuser?
- Recognising abuse: signs and symptoms.
- Guidelines for dealing with abuse.
- Dealing with disclosure.
- Reporting procedures.
- Whistle blowing.
Course length: 4-5 hrs
Qualification achieved: Safeguarding of adults certificate.
Care standard: Standard 10
Cost: £50 per person + VAT on open courses
£50 per person + VAT (min charge of £300 + VAT) for in-house courses
