Basic Food Hygiene

Picture of washing handsThe basic food hygiene course focuses on the needs of food handlers in the sector of the food industry in which they work. Suitable for food operatives, kitchen staff, care assistants and service staff.

The basic course is 6 hours and can be run at times to suit your requirements.  The course concludes with a multiple choice test.

Course length: 6 – 7 hrs

Qualification: Basic food hygiene certificate

Rigorous enforcement of food hygiene legislation is important but it is not, in itself, sufficient to prevent food poisoning. Food poisoning is normally caused by negligence or ignorance and consequently most experts in food hygiene believe that a reduction in the high level of food poisoning cases will only be achieved by the education of food handlers.

Cost: £35 per person + VAT on open courses

£35 per person + VAT (min charge of £280 + VAT) for in-house courses

All successful candidates receive a certificate.

Courses can be run in house or at our training centres in Lincoln and Grimsby in Lincolnshire.  We also run open courses regularly for individuals or businesses needing to train single employees.
