Medical gas kitMedical gases should only be administered by staff who are:

  • Competent in the administration of medical gases & basic life support.

  • Familiar with the side effects of medical gases & their contra-indications.

  • Aware of the criteria for patient selection and exclusion.

The aim of the course is to ensure:

  • Medical gas is administered safely & effectively.
  • To reduce the likelihood of side effects and complications.

Course length: 4 hrs

Qualification: Medical Gases Certificate

Course Syllabus:

  • To give students a greater understanding of oxygen therapy.
  • Understand when oxygen is contraindicated.
  • Teach students about the different illnesses and diseases that could require oxygen therapy.
  • The use of bag/valve and mask.
  • The use of OPA (Oral Pharyngeal Airways).
  • The use of an aspirator.
  • The use of analgesic gas.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

Cost: £35 per person + VAT on open courses £35 per person (min charge of £280) + VAT for in-house courses
