This one day paediatric course gives candidates the knowledge and ability to deal with emergency first aid situations particularly whilst dealing with children.

This course leads to the HSE emergency first aid at work certificate, but is geared towards medical emergencies involving children.

The course covers:

• Assessment of the scene
• Prioritisation of casualties
• Assessment of casualties
• CPR (Using both adult and child sized manikins)
• Recovery position
• Causes and treatment of unconsciousness

- Head injury
- Fainting
- Asphyxia
- Heart attack
- Allergic reactions
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- Poisoning
- Asthma

• Bleeds and burns
• Legislation, accident book, RIDDOR & contents of 1st aid box

Cost: £35 per person + VAT on open courses
